Some moments in your artistic journey stick with you forever, and my BBC Radio London appearance with the legendary Robert Elms is one of them.
On the very day Gift was released, I had the honour of joining Robert on air to chat about the album, my upbringing in Portugal, and what it was like recording Gift on my own, literally in my home studio in Hampstead.
It was one of those moments where everything felt deeply real, the joy, the nerves, the pride of sharing my music with the world and with listeners who’ve supported me from day one.
🎵 Songs Shared Live on BBC
During the show, Robert spun two tracks from Gift:
“Salma” — a song filled with emotion, strength and longing
“Give It All You Got” — an anthem of wholehearted commitment and belief
Hearing those songs played on BBC Radio London, especially alongside a thoughtful conversation about the stories behind them, was genuinely incredible.
📺 A Glimpse Behind the Scenes
I put together a little video highlight from the interview, sharing some of the best moments and reflections from that studio session.

This capture takes me right back to that interview chair, heart racing, grateful beyond words, and so happy to share a piece of my journey with BBC listeners.
🌍 From Portugal to London — Home Studio to BBC Airwaves
Talking to Robert about my upbringing in Portugal felt deeply personal and meaningful. Music was always part of me growing up, and moving to London, then diving into making Gift entirely from scratch in my Hampstead home studio, was both a creative leap and a beautiful challenge.
To be able to speak about it on one of the city’s most respected radio shows was humbling, surreal and deeply fulfilling.
Thank you to everyone who has listened, shared, streamed and believed in this project. This BBC moment is something I’ll carry with me forever.
Keep listening, keep showing up, and let’s make more magic.
